Are you eager to work with worship life and lead a choir?

The position of church musician is open, with regular tasks such as playing at services and church ceremonies. You have great opportunity to influence the content of the position based on your skills and interests.

The place of service is Töreboda parish house, but you will have operational responsibility in Fägre parish in consultation with the parish priest and other musicians in the pastorate.

You will

In Töreboda pastorate, you will work in a creative and positive team where you work both independently and in an engaged music team. You may also have an established church choir to lead in choir development.

The position also allows for tasks based on your gifts. Previously, there have been project-based tasks such as gospel concerts, summer musicians (youth who play in the pastorate during the summer), and contact with schools.

Worship development is important, read more in the pastorate's parish instruction (see website). There, together with priests and other staff, you have an important role as music plays a significant part in the service. The music activities are highly valued and there is support from both management and the team.

You should

• have a church musician degree at least at C-level
• belong to the Church of Sweden and share its values
• hold a B driver's license

You should also be comfortable with digital tools such as smartphones, as much of the communication and reporting within the pastorate is done digitally. Experience using Teams is an asset.

A trial performance will take place in connection with any interview.

Töreboda pastorate is a rural pastorate located in northern Skaraborg, in the Diocese of Skara. It consists of four parishes and 15 churches. Both agricultural land and forest landscapes provide a varied nature, and one can travel on both the Göta Canal and the western main line through the pastorate. It is close to Mariestad and within commuting distance, there are both Lidköping and Skövde.
